I love Malaysian cuisine, and Penang was a great spot for a nice dinner. I popped my head in to pickup our food and the restaurant had a unique interior. I would've liked to dine in but ended up with some takeout. The menu was enormous with many other Asian dishes - namely a large Thai selection.

Wonderfully cooked chicken. The owner was very passionate about food. We spent a while talking about where to get the best this-or-that. He even prepared some custom pepper chili paste for me. The food was really exceptional. That's saying something. When you eat at enough places, all of the food starts to blend together. Let's be honest, 80% of places have food that tastes like it all came out of the same kitchen. The other 20% are the great and horrible ones. The last 10 bulgogi's have tasted the same, the last 10 chicken red curries have tasted the same, etc. It's becoming more and more rare to find a restaurant serving food that tastes different than the last 15 places I've eaten at. Penang is unique.

Finally I found the taste of achat and curry fish head that is similar to my hometown flavor. By talking to the owner, he's from northern park of Malaysia who know and understand how to make this sort of unique flavor. If you don't know what is achat, it's basically Malaysia style spicy mixed vegetables and it taste really good in cold. The restaurant is nicely decorated, although dated but I have the old hometown feel and like it so much. I am not familiar with the area but I can see plenty of parking places there so I think parking shouldn't be an issue here. Will definitely back if I visit the area again to taste more items.

Good Malaysian food experience for our group of six. Service was a little slow because there was only one server, but food came out quick. Roti canai- got the veggie and chicken versions. This was ok. The veggie one was watery and the rotis got hard pretty quickly. I'm used to them being soft and flaky. Hubby got the lamb redang. He loved the seasoning and said the lamb was cooked perfectly. He finished the whole thing Kari Seyur- veggie curry. Good to share and the portion was huge. There were plenty of leftovers Penang Curry Mee Noodle Soup- liked the shrimp and noodles in the soup. The broth had good flavor but I had to add some hot sauce to make it spicier. This portion is also huge. Chili Chicken- loved this. The chicken was crispy and had the perfect mix of flavor. It looked bland at first but I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. We did order it extra spicy, so that might have brought out more flavor. Singapore Fried Mee Hoon- yummy noodles! Nice side dish to share if you are with a group. The only other dish we were able to finish.

Pretty tasty. My friend says her vegetarian husband comes here a lot. The location is kinda hard to see if you're coming from the north side but it's located next to pho bac. Food was pretty good. Jammed pack with flavor. The Hannaiese chicken was super moist and tender. I really enjoyed the satay chicken and salty bean sprout and fish. The only thing I wasn't really crazy about was the fish head soup. I ate it but I didn't really enjoy the flavor. It was white, sweet and kinda bland. Service was nice and friendly. Overall with the yelp deal I thoroughly enjoyed it and may return.
